How a Round Ice Bath Tub Uses Space

Entry and Exit Require Planning

Round tubs often have higher walls relative to their footprint. Users may need a stable step and nearby handhold, but the portable wall itself should not be assumed to support full body weight.

Rectangular models may have a wider opening, although low mobility can still make entry difficult. Non-slip flooring and a clear path around the tub are important for either design.

Cold exposure can reduce coordination. The user should be able to exit promptly without climbing over equipment, hoses, furniture, or a slippery surface.

One Shape Does Not Change Cold-Shock Risk

Tub geometry may change posture, but it does not remove the physiological risks of cold-water immersion. Enter gradually and avoid beginning with water colder or exposure longer than appropriate for the individual.
