Prepare the Site Before Opening the Package

Inspect the setup area before unfolding the pool. Remove stones, glass, metal pieces, dry branches, and other sharp objects. The surface should be level because water pressure naturally moves toward the lowest side and can distort an unevenly supported pool.

Use a ground cloth when appropriate, especially on patios, lawns, or other surfaces where friction may damage the base. The cloth should lie flat without hard folds underneath the pool.

Take the product out of its packaging and spread it gently. Do not pull the folded material by the valve or drag it across the ground. When the pool has been stored in a cold location, allow the material to reach a moderate temperature before inflation because cold vinyl is less flexible.

Identify the Air Chambers and Valves

Many inflatable pools contain several independent air chambers. Separate chambers help form the upper rings, sidewalls, seat sections, headrests, or decorative components.

Locate every inflation valve before starting. Check that the valve openings are clean and that no packaging material is trapped inside. Follow the sequence in the product instructions when one is provided.

Inflating the base or lower chamber first is not always correct. Some designs need the main supporting ring to take shape before smaller sections are filled. The chamber sequence should match the actual product construction.

Select a Suitable Pump

A manual hand pump or foot pump is practical for smaller pools. An electric low-pressure inflator saves time on larger products. The nozzle should fit the valve securely without forcing or stretching the opening.

Avoid high-pressure compressors intended for tires or workshop equipment. They can fill a chamber too quickly, making it difficult to judge pressure before the seam becomes overloaded.

Start with a low airflow setting when using an electric pump. Stop periodically and check how the chamber feels rather than waiting until it becomes extremely firm.

Inflate to Shape, Not Maximum Hardness

The walls should become smooth and supportive while retaining a slight amount of give when pressed by hand. A rigid, drum-tight chamber may be overinflated.

Air expands when the temperature rises. A pool inflated firmly in the cool morning can become tighter after several hours in direct sun. Leaving a small allowance for temperature change helps protect seams and valves.

The correct inflation level also depends on the water load. Water provides outward pressure after filling, so the air chambers should be stable without being forced to their maximum volume.

Check that:

  • Each ring has an even shape

  • The walls are not twisted

  • Valves are fully closed

  • No chamber feels unusually soft

  • Seams are not stretched or distorted

  • The base remains flat on the ground

Fill the Pool Gradually

Add a small amount of water first and observe the base. Smooth out minor floor folds while the water is still shallow and the pool is easy to adjust.

Continue filling slowly. Watch whether one wall leans outward or the water gathers on one side. Significant imbalance usually indicates uneven ground rather than insufficient air pressure.

Do not move the pool after it contains a substantial amount of water. The combined weight can pull on the base, handles, walls, and seams. Drain it before repositioning.

Fill only to the marked level or the level recommended for the model. Excess water reduces freeboard and may place unnecessary pressure on the wall structure.

Check the Pool During Use

A small reduction in firmness can occur as air temperature changes. Recheck the chambers after the pool has settled, but do not automatically add air whenever the surface feels cooler.

Bubbles around a closed valve or a section that repeatedly loses shape may indicate leakage. Inspect the valve position and surrounding material before using a repair patch. The surface should be clean and dry before any repair is attempted.

Children must remain under active adult supervision around an inflatable pool, regardless of water depth. Inflation and wall height are not substitutes for water-safety precautions.
